The recent Strigoi attack at St. Vladimir's Academy was the deadliest ever in the school's history, claiming the lives of Moroi students, teachers, and guardians alike. Even worse, the Strigoi took some of their victims with them . . . including Dimitri.
To keep the promise Dimitri begged her to make long ago, and with everything at stake, how can Rose possibly destroy the person she loves most?
Rose is on a mission, the most important mission of her life.
To find the man she loves, and stake him straight through the chest. But how can she do that when she loves him so dearly?
Though when she starts to leave a trail of Strigoi bodies in and around America, Rose soon attracts the attention of Sydney, a feisty young Alchemist, who turns out, is getting pretty fed up of cleaning up after her. As the two pair up, both girls soon find themselves in Baia, Siberia. Dimitri’s hometown.
But something isn’t right, there’s a strange man following Rose on her journey, trying to get her to go back to the Academy, someone has taken her place at the school, all her friends are at war and Lissa, her best friend is starting to feel strange again. She has irrational thoughts, just like she did a year ago, and there’s nothing Rose can do to stop it.
Time is running out and not just for Rose, but for everyone she has ever cared about.
Blood Promise by Richelle Mead, is the fourth instalment in the Vampire Academy and oh my lord it absolutely broke my heart into a thousand million pieces. I thought the third book was for the heartbreak, but no. The fourth will crush your soul.
Apart from my monumental heartbreak, I think it’s safe to say that these books just keep getting better as it goes through the series. Each book becomes more rich with the plot, the characters are growing more and their personalities are coming through. The way they’re written is perfect and the shocks and twists throughout the book, my god I nearly died.
If you are looking for a new YA for yourself or someone you know, or for any vampire fanatics out there, I would highly recommend this series. You will not be disappointed.
I will most certainly be giving this book 10 out of 10
