Fade Out * Rachel Caine

Fade Out by Rachel Caine

"Without the evil vampire Bishop ruling over the town of Morganville, the resident vampires have made major concessions to the human population. With their newfound freedom, Claire Danvers and her friends are almost starting to feel comfortable again...

Now Claire can actually concentrate on her studies, and her friend Eve joins the local theatre company. But when one of Eve's castmates goes missing after starting to work on a short documentary, Eve suspects the worst. Claire and Eve soon realise that this film project, featuring the vampires themselves, is a whole lot bigger - and way more dangerous - than anyone suspected..."

There is only one word to describe this book and that word is, WOW.
Fade Out by Rachel Caine is the 7th book in the Morganville Vampire series and I have got to say it is one of the best.

Fade Out carries on where Carpe Corpus left off and their is no confusion in what is happening when you get onto the next one. It captures you from the very start and not making you want to put the book down...at all.

The book starts off with a little introduction to the Morganville life and also the rules, then starts to lead on to the start of the chapter by Eve getting accepted to play the role of Blanche DuBois at their local theatre. It's a big thing for Eve since she was a little girl to be in a play.
But all doesn't run so smoothly as she starts to befriend a girl named Kim.

Kim comes over as a nice chick, a cool girl. Though Claire doesn't seem to interested in her, when Eve starts to hang around with her more completely shutting Claire out of their friendship circle, and Kim starts to flirt with Shane, which is also not too good for poor Claire as she starts to get jealous of Kim.
Micheal says not to worry about it and that it's just the way Kim has always been, but Claire is not too sure.

Things start to get deeper and scarier for Claire in Morganville than she ever expected:

*New vampires in town
*Amelie depressed over her lover's death (which leaves her uncontrolled of Morganville)
*Oliver acting more creepy than usual (But what's new?)

And the Morganville main computer is ill...Ada.

Ada is jealous of Claire being Myrnin's assistant and wants to get revenge on her, simply because she was Myrnin's wife long ago and Myrnin hurt her...Big time. With Ada getting more ill by the instant Claire starts to come clear of what is happening, she's trying to kill her. Dragging Claire through dangerous portals, and death traps, Claire never knows what will happen.

Kim is not all goody-two-shoes as everyone thinks she is, she has a history through the town and they don't like her. Claire starts to dig deeper into the strange mystery of Kim and finds something shocking. With Eve, Shane and Michael on her side, they troop through her apartment and find something they did not want to find. Videos, Vampire interviews and an Internet source. Something that Morganville don't have without permission. And daily video blogs stating on where Kim is, what she's doing and how long she has been doing this for.

Eve starts to wonder if the Videos will be broadcast outside of Morganville and is so, the world will know their secret. That vampires exist which means it will get ugly and dangerous and if so, Morganville will be destroyed.

The bad news is that there are 70 cameras over Morganville and Kim is missing, and copies have been made. Which is bad, very bad. Personal things have been filmed on those camera's and there are some planted in the Glass House residents. One in Shane's room (Which not good since Kim has a giant crush on him) One in Micheal's room, the bathroom and living room.

With the chase on to find Kim and stop Ada from killing Claire and possibly Myrnin, the fate of Morganville is in their hands.

And will they stop it?

I loved this book! I thought it was amazing (And I know that you may think that I'm been all for one on Rachel Caine but I'm not) I think it's an amazing book and one of the best books so far by Caine. The book garbs you right from the start and for me it was very hard to put down. I read about 4 chapters a day, that's how good it was :)

Fade Out made me gasp in shock and horror, feel sad for the characters and also laugh in many places. It also made me smile a lot because there are many parts that are strange and creepy and you think 'Omg what's going to happen?' and
'No how could you do that?!' But also there were many that made you think aw and cute.

Morganville Vampires is one of the greatest book series I have read since Harry potter and I love every moment of reading them.

Like always I recommend them for people who like to read a good action packed, romance and also with some awesome vampires. (And not the mushy ones you get from Twilight) Real ones where they bleed people dry to the bone. This for you :)

Merry Christmas & A Happy New Year! :)

Carpe Corpus * Rachel Caine

Carpe Corpus by Rachel Caine

'In the small town of Morganville, vampires and humans lived in (relative) peace - until all the rules got rewritten when the evil vampire Bishop arrived, looking for the lost book of vampire secrets. He's kept a death grip on the town ever since. Now an underground resistance is brewing, and in order to contain it, Bishop must go to even greater lengths.

He vows to obliterate the town and all it's inhabitants - the living and the undead. Claire Danvers and her friends are the only ones who stand in his way. But even if they defeat Bishop, will the vampires ever be content to go back to the old rules, after having had such a taste of power?'

Carpe Corpus is the sixth book by the author Rachel Caine. As there are more secrets to be uncovered the plot thickens and gets darker with every chapter.

After the arrival of Bishop, Morganville has not been quite the same, the blood bank has been set alight which means more hunting is now in order by Mr Bishop. Humans are being killed without any remorse shown and vampires are starting to rule the town.

Though Claire Danvers is in more trouble than ever and has been branded by tattoo that moves when Mr Bishop summons her, and there is no way in getting out of it. Claire has to be careful on where she goes and what she does otherwise Amelie the ex-vampire ruler will be found. And maybe killed.

The four friends are bound apart by reasons insane. Claire is forced to do Bishops dirty work and bidding. Michael has been bitten by the ever so powerful Mr Bishop and is now his slave. Shane is locked up in a cell in the middle of Morganville with his vampire hunting dad, Eve is at the Glass House wanting nothing to do with Claire, also Ameilie has disappeared without a word of where she is. Oh! And Myrnin who has sided with Bishop. Claire's life at the moment, is pretty much screwed.

Claire is now on her own and with the magical tattoo forcing her to a job she doesn't want to commit to, things are getting a little out of hand in her world. Myrnin has still got Clair trying to figure out the cure for the diseased vampires and trying to save her friends all at once. Plus trying to find Amelie for help.

Her mother and father made her live at there house across the road and think Shane is a bad influence on Claire...Her mother thinks he takes her for granted, her father just doesn't like him full stop. Hers and Shane's relationship is on the built and is slowly progressing, with a bit of heat involved.

But all things start to twist back to normal again as Claire is right back at the Glass House, the place where she belongs the most. Shane is out of jail and right by her side, Eve is talking to her again, and they find out that Michael and Myrnin are on Amelie's side and working under cover as fakes towards Bishop to try and get some clues and answers about what's going down in the town. And that there are still some of Amelie's followers true and loyal but hiding underground and in the deep of the shadows.

Morganville has started to become more dark but there it's still packed with action just like before and more running around and all four of them; Eve, Michael, Shane and Claire...are all just trying to keep their life's.

Rachel Caine's 6th book has got to be one of the Darkest I have read so far, like always she has you on the edge of your seat wanting more and staying up late at night wanting to read. You never want to put the book down (Just like all her other books) I loved this book and in some places I was shocked and in some I was just, surprised! If you have read the other Morganville books you will definitely want to read this one, it's just like the others but with more action, more suspense and also more romance. The book will not disappoint you at all.

I really enjoyed reading this book and was a great read. I would give this book 5/5 stars :)
Highly recommended for those who have read other Morganville books and also people who wish to read a good vampire book, with lots of action (and no sparkling skin :P )

So go ahead and read!

(P.S:: I know this is not the best book review I have done, I forgot what happened in the first part so I had to piece it back together again, but that's what happens...with also other bits :P)
